Terms and conditions

Taxi Voorne aan Zee · Last updated: 25 September 2026

These terms and conditions apply to all taxi rides and other transport services of Taxi Voorne aan Zee, including rides you request via our website. We have written them to be as clear as possible.

1. Who we are and what the terms mean

In these terms and conditions, “we”, “us” or “Taxi Voorne aan Zee” refers to the business named above. “You” or “the customer” refers to the person or company that requests, books or uses a ride. A “ride” is any transport service we carry out for you. A “ride request” is the request for a ride, for example via the form on our website, by e-mail, WhatsApp or telephone.

2. What these terms and conditions apply to

These terms and conditions apply to all ride requests, bookings, quotations and agreements with Taxi Voorne aan Zee, unless we agree otherwise with you in writing. If you are a consumer, the statutory rules that protect you always continue to apply; where these terms and conditions would deviate from them, the law prevails.

We make these terms and conditions available to you before, or at the latest when, the contract of carriage is concluded, in a way that allows you to read and save them. Electronic communication, such as e-mail and WhatsApp, counts as written communication under these terms and conditions, insofar as the law does not require a stricter form.

3. Ride request and confirmation

A ride request via our website is a request and not yet a definitive booking. Your ride is only fixed once Taxi Voorne aan Zee has explicitly confirmed the request, by e-mail, WhatsApp or telephone. Without that confirmation there is no agreement and you cannot assume that the taxi will come.

After sending the form you automatically receive an acknowledgement by e-mail. That is a confirmation that we have received your request, not yet a confirmation of the ride itself.

We may refuse a request, for example when no vehicle is available, the details are incomplete or incorrect, or when we cannot reasonably carry out the ride. Therefore check your request carefully and let us know about changes as soon as possible.

4. Carrying out the transport

We do our best to pick you up at the agreed time at the agreed address and to take you safely and comfortably to your destination. We carry out rides with a vehicle that suits the number of passengers and the luggage you specified. Therefore let us know in advance how many people are travelling and which luggage you are bringing, so that we can deploy the right vehicle.

Traffic conditions, roadworks, weather and other circumstances beyond our control may affect the pick-up time or journey time. Where possible we inform you as soon as possible if something changes.

5. Route and distance

On our website you can have a route distance calculated in advance with the help of Google Maps. That distance is only an indication: the actual route and distance may differ due to the traffic situation, road closures, your wishes during the ride or the driver's judgement. The distance shown is not a price offer and does not determine the final fare. Your statutory rights remain fully unaffected.

In principle the driver chooses the most logical route. If you prefer a particular route, please say so at the start of the ride.

6. Fares and taximeter

Our website never shows or calculates a fare. If no fixed price has been explicitly agreed before the start of the ride, the fare is determined by the taximeter and the rates that apply to the ride. A fixed price applies only if it was explicitly agreed before the start of the ride (see article 7). All prices for consumers include VAT.

After the ride we offer you the legally required ride receipt, on paper or digitally.

Would you like an indication of the costs in advance? Please contact us; we are happy to help.

7. Fixed price agreed in advance

For some rides Taxi Voorne aan Zee can agree a fixed price with you in advance. A fixed price applies only when we have explicitly agreed it with you beforehand, for example in our confirmation by e-mail or WhatsApp. Without such an explicit agreement the taximeter applies.

If, at your own request, you change the destination, the route, the waiting time or the scope of the ride, additional costs may only be charged insofar as that change results in additional performance. As far as possible, we agree with you before those additional costs arise whether and how they will be calculated. Without such a change, the agreed fixed price continues to apply.

8. Payment

You pay the driver immediately after the ride, in cash or by card, unless we have agreed payment by invoice with you in advance. For payment by invoice the payment term stated on the invoice applies.

If you are a consumer, we only charge extrajudicial collection costs after, once the payment term has expired, we have sent you a free payment reminder giving you 14 days after receipt to pay, as required by law. We charge statutory interest and collection costs only insofar as the law permits.

9. Cancellation

You can cancel a confirmed ride free of charge up to 1 hour before the agreed pick-up time.

If you cancel later, we may only charge reasonable cancellation costs. In determining the amount we take into account in particular the costs actually already incurred, the time of the cancellation, the costs we have saved and the possibility of using the vehicle for another ride. The cancellation costs are never higher than the amount of the agreed ride.

At your request we explain how the cancellation costs charged were calculated.

Contracts for passenger transport are not subject to the general 14-day right of withdrawal that applies to many other service contracts concluded online, insofar as this follows from the applicable law. Your options to cancel therefore follow in particular from this article and from mandatory law.

You can cancel by telephone, WhatsApp or e-mail. The moment your message reaches us is decisive.

10. No-show

If you are not present at the agreed time and place and you have not cancelled the ride, we may ask for reasonable compensation for the loss we suffer as a result. In doing so we take into account in particular the distance already driven, the waiting time, the costs we have saved and any other use of the vehicle. The amount requested is never higher than the amount of the agreed ride. We do not charge a fixed penalty.

If you are delayed, please contact us as early as possible; we can often find a solution together.

11. Conduct and safety

For everyone's safety, you follow the driver's reasonable instructions during the ride and wear a seat belt. Smoking, drinking alcohol and using drugs are not allowed in the vehicle. In case of aggression, serious nuisance or behaviour that endangers safety, the driver may refuse or end the ride. We may recover from you, in accordance with applicable law, damage to the vehicle that is attributable to you.

12. Luggage and belongings

Please take good care of your luggage and personal belongings and check when getting out that you have not left anything behind.

Loss of or damage to luggage and personal belongings is governed by the mandatory statutory rules for passenger transport. These terms and conditions do not limit the carrier's statutory liability for loss of or damage to luggage.

We only take valuables into special safekeeping if we have explicitly agreed this with you in advance.

If the driver finds belongings left behind, we keep them for a reasonable period and contact the owner where possible.

Please mention special luggage, such as a wheelchair, pushchair, bicycle or pet, in your request where possible, so that we can take it into account.

13. Force majeure and failures not attributable to us

If we cannot carry out a ride, or cannot do so on time, we are not liable for the consequences insofar as the failure cannot be attributed to us under the law. This may be the case, for example, with extreme weather, serious accidents, unforeseen road closures or other exceptional and unavoidable circumstances. We inform you as soon as possible and, where possible, look for a solution together.

The mandatory statutory liability rules for passenger transport remain fully applicable.

If a ride was paid in full in advance and was not carried out at all because of such a circumstance, we refund the amount that relates to the service not provided.

14. Liability

Damage in connection with passenger transport is governed by the statutory rules for passenger transport, including Book 8 of the Dutch Civil Code.

We are liable for death, personal injury, delay and loss of or damage to luggage to the extent provided by law.

We are liable for other damage insofar as it can be attributed to us under the law. A contractual limitation or exclusion of our liability applies only insofar as the law permits.

Nothing in these terms and conditions excludes or limits liability insofar as such a limitation is not permitted by law, in particular in the case of intent or reckless conduct with knowledge that the damage would probably result.

If you are a consumer, these terms and conditions do not affect the mandatory rights you have by law as a consumer and as a passenger.

15. Complaints

Are you unhappy with a ride or with our service? We ask you to report a complaint to us preferably within 7 days after the ride, by e-mail or telephone, so that we can investigate it carefully and with all the information. We also handle later reports. We aim to respond substantively to your complaint within 14 days.

16. Privacy and Google Maps

We handle your personal data with care. How we do so is explained in our privacy statement.

Our website uses Google Maps features and content (map, address suggestions and route calculation). In addition to these terms and conditions, the then current Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy apply to their use.

17. Applicable law and disputes

Dutch law applies to agreements with Taxi Voorne aan Zee, insofar as a choice of law is permitted by law. Mandatory statutory rules that apply regardless of a choice of law continue to apply.

If we cannot resolve a matter together, a dispute will be submitted to the court that has jurisdiction under the applicable statutory rules on jurisdiction.

18. Changes

We may amend these terms and conditions. The current version is always available on our website; the date at the top shows when the text was last changed. The terms and conditions that applied at the time of our confirmation apply to a ride.

19. Contact

20. Language versions

The Dutch and the English version of these terms and conditions are intended to be equivalent in substance.

In the event of a difference in interpretation, the Dutch version is the starting point, insofar as the law permits.

Mandatory statutory consumer and passenger transport rights remain fully applicable.
